Hello everyone. St. Patrick’s Day is just around the corner! This year we decided to do something special. I have selected 3 of my favorite Irish tunes for you to learn. The first one is the one most people will know. It’s called The Irish Washerwoman. And there is a reason I chose it.

For the last 7 years my friends and I have been recording Irish tunes for my father for Christmas and Father’s Day. This is one of his favorites so I thought I would post this first. Hope you enjoy. The arrangement is different to say the least.

Have you ever learned any old Irish tunes? If you have you know they can be pretty demanding. And you need to have your chops up. If you haven’t, well make sure to get your chops up quickly. The best way to do that is to get yourself a copy of Guitar Burning Speed right now! Click here to order. We will even throw in a free download Hard Rock Band Jams.

So I won’t keep you, Get going because a new tune is coming in a couple of days.

Best of Luck

Jamorama Acoustic comes in two books – Beginner and Advanced. These books take the guitarists on a journey from having NO guitar playing skills to being able to play and read guitar tab like a pro.

Jamorama Acoustic guitar is based on the Jamorama Guitar Learning Kit that is widely recognized at the best guitar course available. The Jamorama Acoustic Guitar Learning Kit specifically itargets the acoustic guitar player with 148 video examples and exercises and 26 Acoustic Jam Tracks for the student to play along with.

Jamorama Acoustic also comes with five free bonuses that make this a truly COMPLETE learning experience. These bonuses include:

JaydeMusica Pro

GuitEarIt!

Advanced Learning Techniques for Guitar

Guitar Tuner Pro and How to Tune Your Guitar

The Jamorama Metronome

These games and resources make the monotony of learning to read music fun, and also help students to develop their ear for transcribing their favorite songs from the radio. Both games are professionally designed, and are invaluable in developing the key skills necessary in being a better musician.

Also included is a free online consultation to customers who may have a specific training problem they would like to address.

This package is impressive because it is the most complete package available and covers the whole process of learning the guitar, from strumming, muting and bending, to timing, reading music and transcribing IN DEPTH.

Jamorama Acoustic Guitar comes with a 60 day, no questions asked, money-back guarantee.

Jamorama Acoustic guitar is another creation from guitar master Ben Edwards. Jamorama Acoustic is aimed at the acoustic guitar player and is quite literally the acoustic version of Ben’s popular Jamorama! Guitar course that has lead the guitar learning market for the past several years.

Jamorama Acoustic comes with 153 video lessons and is packed with tips and tricks to get the student playing in the shortest time possible. The thing about Jamorama Acoustic that sets it apart from all other courses is that it is an integrated learning kit with lessons, games and practice “jam tracks” put together in a way that gets tangible results fast. Every aspect of the course from the way it is downloaded, to the way lessons are laid out, to the Acoustic Jam Tracks that come with the course for a learner to practice what’s being taught in context makes Jamorama Acoustic easy and fun to use

Jamorama Acoustic Guitar is a practical course. Ben hasn’t loaded it down with a lot of unnecessary theory. While you will come away from the course with skills like being able to ready guitar TAB, you won’t spend time learning theory that has little or no application.

I give Jamorama Acoustic a score of 10 out of 10! If you want to learn acoustic guitar and are looking at an online course, I wholeheartedly recommend Jamorama Acoustic Guitar. You will not find more information packaged in a user-friendly course for so little money anywhere.

Get more information at Jamorama Acoustic click here

Cheap acoustic guitars are easy to find but sometimes hard to play. Looking around on ebay you may even find a cheap acoustic guitar that costs more to ship than to buy. You may want to avoid these things.

Instead I recommend you go to your local music shop and play the guitars. Some of them are going to be easier on your fingers. Some are going to sound a little better. At some places they may even through in a free lesson. This isn’t’ guaranteed but I have seen this.

The first thing you may notice on a cheap acoustic guitar is that the strings are high off the neck. This is called the “action”. High action makes it harder to play because you have to push so much harder to get the notes to sound. This is bad for a beginner acoustic guitar player. You want something that is somewhat easy to play because if not you will get frustrated and give up.

Usually the high-end guitars are a lot easier to play but you can still find cheap acoustic guitars with low action. If you can buy one of those it will make learning the acoustic guitar so much easier.

String type is also something to consider. Steel strings versus nylon string. Steel string are what most guitars come with but can be just a bit more rough on your finger tips. Nylon strings are easier to play but have a much different sound. This type of string is found on a classical guitar. I would recommend going steel string though as the difference in difficulty isn’t that great between the two types. But check it out for yourself.

Body size is another thing to consider when shopping for a cheap acoustic guitar. For the most part the cheaper guitars have smaller bodies. This is great for kids but not so great for adults. Adults want to play full sized guitars because they are more comfortable and they won’t feel like they are playing a toy.

That being said you can still find some great bargains out there. Even on brand new guitars. Check out Washburn and Fender, they have some good stuff you may like. Best of luck hunting for a cheap acoustic guitar.

If you are a beginner acoustic guitar player I hope what I say will help you out. If you have already made your purchase let’s get to playing. If you haven’t ever played a note let’s start with you picking hand. Make sure that you are not holding the pick too tight. You don’t want any extra tension in your hand or arm. Keep a firm grip, but not to tight.

Let’s start on the high E string. This is the skinniest string located on the bottom of the guitar. It’s called the “high” E because it is the highest sounding string. We are going to first play it open, which means that we will pick the string towards the floor. Next play the string from the bottom, with your pick going towards the ceiling. The motion of picking both ways is called alternate picking.

One thing to keep in mind when doing this is to move your hand as little as possible. Just get to the other side of the string. Now play the open string using alternate pick 8 times. Then add the first finger of your fretting hand to hold down the string on the first fret. Play this 8 times. Add you second finger to the second string and 8 more times. Do this until you have your pinky playing the 4th fret.

Then next step is to be able to do this without any pauses between frets. It may take a little while but you will get it. T this point speed is not your goal. Your goal is to be playing evenly and to have good clean notes.

Once you have got everything sounding good, move onto the second sting and then third sting until you are practicing every string everyday. At first it may take you a while but after a week or so this whole exercise is only going to take you a few minutes each day.

Don’t be tempted to get all of the strings done in one day. Be patient and consistent and you won’t be a beginner acoustic guitar player forever.

Time to learn your acoustic guitar chords. There are two types that we will focus on. Open chords and Bar chords. Open chords are the easier of the two so we will start there.

Open chords are chords that use open string along with fretted notes. All of the fretting takes place in the first three frets with a few small exceptions. The ones you will need right away are A A- C D D- E E- F and G. Just knowing these chords will allow you to be able to play thousands of songs. Plus you will be able to go jam with people and pick up even more songs from them.

One of the best ways to practice these acoustic guitar chords is to pick one. We will use the A chord.

First thing to do is memorize the chords pattern. Be able to get your fingers to where they need to be without having to look at a chart

Make Sure that your fingers are curled and you are on the tips

If any part of your finger is touching another string, then it won’t make any sound. So make sure each finger is up and over all the strings it’s not playing

Push down firmly but not too hard or the pitch will be sharp

Now take your hand of the chord and try to get back to it as soon as possible

Now that you have that chord going, lets move onto E. Again, follow the five steps above until you have the E chord ringing. Now combine the two chords. Practice changing form to E to A over and over for about 4 or 5 minutes. You should feel it start to get a little easier. At this point learn the D chord. You know what to do next. Remember to keep repeating. Repetition is the key here. You can play Wild Thing By strumming 2 of each in this order: A D E A

The next day you should aim to review these three chords. Don’t worry about getting any new chords down until you have got these three going smoothly. If you have them going good, pick a new chord and go through the steps. At this point you should be able to practice the above list of acoustic guitar chords

If you can’t read music, acoustic guitar tabs are the way to go for learning new songs. The internet is loaded with tab sites that will most definitely have the song you are looking for. I must say, the ones you pay for are usually better than the free ones but it is not always the case.

When you are searching for acoustic guitar tabs, have a guitar with you. The reason I recommend doing this is because you will want to play through it a little bit to check for accuracy. If the tune sounds real bad find another one and try that. When you find the one that you like and sounds good print out that one. Don’t just print the first one you find. I have got myself a great collection of awful acoustic guitar tabs from students who just print out the first one they find and assume it’s right.

Another thought to keep in mind is this. Just because you found it on the internet does not mean it is right. Acoustic guitar tabs are not correct just because someone on a site said they were. The reason that I want you to know this is so you don’t think you suck at guitar because you can’t get a song to sound right. I don’t want you to give up because you have an acoustic guitar tab that tells you the wrong chords!

Building you collection of tabs is important. I recommend getting a folder that you can keep all of your tunes in. This way it is easy to find when you want to review a part later on down the road. It is a good way to remind you what songs you know. Sounds weird but after a few years you will have so many acoustic guitar tabs that you will start forgetting the tunes that you worked on. That’s actually a very good feeling.

Free Online Acoustic Guitar Lessons – Learning Your First Song

You just got your guitar now you need some free online acoustic guitar lessons. What do we start with? Well, what are your goals? Do you want to put together a band and play at parties, do you want to charm the hottest girl at school or do you just want to be able to play because you have always wanted to and you decided it’s now the time? Whatever your reasons, I am psyched that you have decided to learn.

Before you start set your goals. Make a list of 10 songs that you would learn how to play. Just write them down and keep your list. Don’t think about whether they are too hard to play. Chances are some of them will be and some of them won’t be. Start with the easy ones. Ask around. Someone you know from school or work or your social circle will know how to play. Ask them which of your list is the easiest to play and start with that song.

Now we have our first goal. Let’s say for example that you chose to learn “Wild Thing” for your first song. You will need to learn an A D and E chord. Make learning one chord new chord each day your goal. So Monday (if you are staring on a Monday), you will learn the A chord. This may take you some time.

Put your fingers on the chord. Look at your hand. Are your fingers curled so you are up on the tips? If not, fix them so they are. Give the chord a strum. How does it sound? If it sounds good and all the notes are ringing take your hand off. Now put your hand back on the chord and try it again. Remember to make sure you are on the tips of your fingers. If not fix them. Give us another strum. Hopefully it sounds good again. Once again take your fingers off the string and put them back on again. The reason we do this is because changing chords is harder than just learning them. So by doing this we practice getting our fingers moving to chords. Do this for about 10 minutes.

Now if you are tired you may stop. The next day we will start with a couple of minutes repeating Mondays practice and then spend the rest of out time doing the D chord. Practice it the same way you did the A chord. Now on Wednesday we review D and A and then learn the E chord. At the end of your practice on Wednesday, play a then D then E than A for a few minutes.

Thursday calls for us to play our song. Are you ready? Two strums on a, 2 strums on D, 2 strums on E and 2 strums on D. Sound like Wild Thing yet? If it does keep on playing you are doing great. If it doesn’t sing the song in your head for a few minutes and try to match what you are hearing with what comes out of your guitar. This will help out tremendously.

Friday is review the song day. Now Saturday or Sunday you must play the song for someone. It doesn’t matter if you think it’s not ready, just do it. No excuses. You have a gig this weekend even if it’s only one song.

Final step. Pick 2 songs to learn next week and practice them the same way we did Wild Thing. Good luck at your 3-song gig!
